I have a problem statement.
I need to calculate the heating time of batch heating using steam as a heating medium. I need to compare the heating time for limpet coils and jackets. I did not find any correlations for heat transfer coefficient for jacket and limpet for condensing steam.

Hi

Thank you so much!

What about condensation in limpet coils?

Hi,

You did not do your homework !

Edit : Correlation to consider Half pipe coil jacket in document shared. # 22/23/24  depending on flow regime.

Another resource :

CheCalc ‐ Jacketed Vessel Heat Transfer

Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks, but are these correlations applicable for condensation?

Hi,

Sorry I don't understand. Heating means converting saturated steam to condensate.
