hi guys

i have a pressure vessel with 14mt.(L), 3mt(Dia.)and 120m3 volume. the wall thickness is 16mm with material A516 Gr70. i would like to know how much of N2 gas require for filling the vessel? if the vessel temp. and Nitrogen pressure are 45oC & 15bar respectively.

So, is there a relation between liquid N2 and gas N2 when convert together? my mean is 1kg of liquid N2, how much fill the 1m3 of volume in the vessel?

thanks

Hi ,

Probably using the perfect gas law, you will reach your objective!  PV=n R T

note: be specific about the units, must be absolute !

Regarding conversion, consider asking your friend:

Big names offer calculators (air liquid ,....)

density of GN2 1bara@45°C is 1.064 kg/m3

https://www.engineer...ure-d_2039.html

density of GN2 at 15barg@45°C is 1.064*15=16 kg/m3

GN2 required to to fill the vessel with 120*16=1920 kg

assime LN2 is transported at pressure 2 barg, then density is 770 kg/m3

LN2 required to fill the vessel with 1920/770=2.5 m3

result is 2.5 m3 or 2 tonnes of LN2 @barg

thanks My friend, in the standard table 1kg of LN2 is equal to 0.8m3 of GN2. Now, i would like to know if i had been 500kg or more of LN2(15bar when is pump(in the gas phase) to the vessel), how much the vessel volume will fill with GN2 with this pressure(15bar)? the volume of vessel is 120m3 and i wants to increase the internal vessel pressure from 0bar upto 6bar in the vessel for leakage test.

I do not understand your questions. The calculation above is obvious, all you need just to modify it accordingly.
