Sir my Project is on polymer composite reinforced with glass fiber and filler. This material can be applicable for piston ring material for non lubricated reciprocating compressor. The samples of above material will testing on reciprocating tribometer.
the compressor i have choose single stage compressor having pressure 4 mpa.speed 550-800rpm.
I have read many reserch paper but i am not able to understand, how to select the parameters like load, sliding velocity, stroke, frequency for reciprocating tribometer.
Please help for selection of range of above parameters.

Hi,

Not sure I understand your query based on your description .Is the issue about the tribometer or about the reciprocating compressor?

About compressor, find literature on the web, including compressor data sheets and/or talk to manufacturer.

When you are clear about the topic you may message Art Montemayor in this forum, he is very knowledgeable about compressor technology.

Thank you sir.
Actually
I am doing project on polymer composite material reinforced with glass fiber and solid lubricants.
This material can be alternative for current piston ring material that minimize the friction and wear and increase the life.

After developing the material, wear test will conduct on linear reciprocating tribometer.
For this wear test,
I have to chooses parameters like load, stroke, velocity, sliding distance, frequency, time etc.
But i don't know how to select the range of these parameter.Actual compressor pressure is 4mpa.what criteria i have to follow for selection of wear test parameters.

It sounds like you need to know the design conditions and operating constraints for the compressor. This information was provided by the manufacturer when the compressor was purchased. If you cannot find documentation, you will need to contact the compressor vendor with the model number so they can retrieve the information. Since you are designing the experiment, you may want to choose the parameters that you can control and measure. Do the operating conditions matter as long as the conditions are documented and reproducible?
