I am trying to calculate the flow of nitrogen used to blanket tanks based on level indicators that are trendable on Aspen Process Explorer.

My knowns are,

Tank ID: 90 ft

Height: 32 ft

Diameter of N2 line to Tank: 1"

Set point of Pressure Control Valve: 0.5" WC

Inlet Pressure: 110 psig

delta P: 110 psig

Operating Temperature: 90F

Cv max: 40830 SCFH

Cv operating : 21031 SCFH

Volume of tank : 203574 ft^3

As the liquid level in the tank varies, the amount of nitrogen used to blanket the void space in the tank to keep pressure on it will obviously vary.

I am having trouble finding this flow to the tank and i am getting astronomical numbers for example 800,000 SCFH? Maybe I am making some wrong assumptions? I don't know.

What does API 2000 say about N2 requirements?
