I'm trying to calculate/obtain the equilibrium data for a mixture of nitric acid and water in order to further do a calculation on how effectively the scrubber will function.

We have 60% nitric acid at site, I know nitric acid forms an azeotrope with water at 68% mass of HNO3, I want to be able to calculate how many equilibrium stages I need in order to compare with the theoretical stages for my scrubber.

Any help would be extremely appreciate.

Hi,

Will it help?

EDIT :

Probably the good way will be to use a simulator !

note : be careful with the unit , 68% mass for the azeotrope , table should be % mol .
