Hi,

For those interested, I 've prepared a spreadsheet which summarizes most of the technics used to resolve this equation, instead of using the Moody chart.

This is a good example to use iterative methods (Direct, Newton Raphson and Halley). To these popular methods I've added one using the lambert W function (unknow to me until recently).

 

Note: For laminar flow f=64/Re
