Good day every one

 

I have a pipephase model built in steady state, The projection is to establish the arrival temperature at the inlet of the LPG Dryer, the piping is insulated with an orifice installed on the line.

 

The results obtained:

Pressure: in line with what is obtained in the field

Temperature: Deviation from site data to high, has much predicted lower than what the site data have.

please how can this be resolved, at least to get close to the expected the designed value.

 

if the model is need, I can send it.

Above ground or under ground?

 

I'd look at the heat loss/gain for starters.

Not clear. You have 3 datas: designed, modelled and site. What do you want from which of those and what results do you want to achieve?

 

Is this pipe total liquid or the LPG flashes downstream of the orifice?

Accurate time prediction will be very difficult using a first principles model. Any vaporization in the line can result in greatly increased velocity. Practically, this means that a little bit of ethane at the source gets to the end of the line much quicker than would be predicted. You have the site data, so try to regress an equation to fit it. Because of composition changes, this will not be easy and I don't expect you to succeed. If needed, an analytical station along the line can give some early warning.
