In the TEG regeneration system, the rich TEG liquid flow rate is 1100 kg/h. In the rectification section of the regeneration column, I used HYSYS to perform the internal design calculations. The liquid rate is 1100 kg/h, and the vapor rate is approximately 50 kg/h. I selected a packing type of Pall rings with a column diameter of 300 mm. However, the operating point after calculation appears abnormal.

My questions are:

Is the 300 mm column diameter appropriate for this operation?

Is HYSYS being too conservative in its internal calculations?

If I proceed with a 300 mm column in actual operation, what problems might occur?

Will it affect the separation efficiency?
