Well, you can try using Aspen. Aspen can warn you when there is an error in your simulation.

I use Pro2 and am reasonably happy with it.

(grin) HYSYS tells me all the time I've got errors in mine!

the ones i used /know of are

hysys, Pro II, Petrosim (hysys + kbc refinery models), unisim (hysys copy marketed by honywell), deisgn II, aspen plus

they are all good in some areas, hysys / petrosim are my choice for refinery applicatoins.

for examples refer to the copmany websites. you actullay need the software to see its capability, moreover, you need to practice to understand it and make full use of it.

cheers,

Hi xenavix,

It depends on the purpose of your simulation.
So far, refinery model, I believe Aspen HYSYS will be good to
handle most of the processes. For chemical process,
Aspen Plus will be your good simulation assistant.

If you read from the AspenTech official site, it says

"For nearly a quarter century, AspenTech has established
a track record of partnering with customers to deliver
sustainable value. Our large installed base of satisfied
customers includes 23 of the top 25 oil companies, 47
of the top 50 chemical companies, and all of the top five
engineering, procurement and construction firms."

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Brian
