Hi,

how to make a Composite tbp curve from steams of D86 and D1160 ASTM. could anyone show me the steps to make an excel spred sheet. i know that some simulation software have it but i need to do this manually.

cheers,

making a composite tbp curve is possible on exel sheet. i understand u hav the D86 / D1160 of the streams to be blended in composite curve. also i am assuming u r backblending the products from distillation column to make the feed stream tbp and not blending of general random streams. you require to do following things:
1) D86 -> TBP and D1160 ->TBP conversion method, which is readily available in a API Technical Data Book. (probably in its volume 1)
2) Blend wt% of individual streams is known.
3) list the streams in ascending order of end points.
3) transfer the IBP -> FBP data of individual streams as its cut wt%. i.e u have stream with tbp data 0-100 wt% with its cut wt % being 0 - 10 %(lightest stream). so u trnsfer 0-100% as 0-10% while retaining the respective temperatures. now nxt stream will start from 10%
4) simply plot the individual streams. u will get discritised curves.
5) there will be gaps and overlaps in these curves depending pn ur stream data.
6) make a continous composite tbp graph out of those .

u can also do it on volumetric blending basis. i will attach a file for it later on.

regards
abhi
