Hi All,

I want to crosslink poly(acrylic acid) by using UV. Is it possible ?
Which photo initiator should I use ? How much UV time ?
Do you know procedure ?
Is it possible to polymerize acylic acid like below way ?
I will appreciate your helps.

Synthesis of PAA

A monomer solution is prepared in 100mL water with acrylic acid (0.069 mol), APS (4.4x10-4 mol) and MBAAm (6.5x10-4 mol). Nitrogen gas was bubbled through the solution for 20 min prior to the polymerization. The solution was kept in a reaction mold (10x10x5 mm) at 60°C for two days to complete polymerization. After polymerization, the initial gels were immersed in a 0.9% NaCl solution for one week to remove unreacted chemicals and were neutralized in a sodium hydroxide solution (1 N) for three days. The neutralized initial gels were dried in a vacuum oven until their weight was reduced by a tenth.
