HI
Can anybody tell me more about the role of process engineers in design of jackup drilling rigs used for offshore exploration?
Also I`m looking for the design specifications and the facilities that are provided on the jackup rig.
Please help me to find more information on the topic.

Could you give some more background information? Why do you ask these questions?

A jack-up drilling rig is basically a drilling rig located on a jack-up platform, see http://en.wikipedia....ki/Drilling_rig and http://en.wikipedia....ki/Oil_platform.

The design of the drilling rig does not depend on its location, whether it is on a barge, a jack-up rig or onshore etc.

As a contrast with oil or gas production platforms, a drilling rig is mainly designed by constructual and mechanical engineers. The only process involved is the treatment of drilling fluid (mud) so that it can be re-used. The equipment involved are mud pits, shale shakers, degassers, centrifuges, hydrocyclones to separate gasses and sand/fine silt from the drilling fluid. See for example http://www.drilling-...m/products.html for a description of the equipment involved.

thank you very much for your information .but i wanted some information on living quarter design also. i understand there are some utilities like instrument and utility air, potable water system , sewage treatmenrt system etc.Ofcourse capacities of these utilities are fixed based on the number of men, but i wanted more details for calculating the same.
