I am looking for information about books, articles, and weblink references to the "Mechanical design aspects of tray type distillation column".

Thanks smile.gif

What aspects are you looking for? Is it the hydraulic design of the tray or the construction details?

The standard textbook on tray hydraulic design as well as packed columns is Distillation Design
by Henry Z. Kister. A great brochure on the hydraulic design of trays is also the Glitsch Ballast Tray Design Manual, although it may be difficult to obtain a copy (may be out of print).

Construction details are discussed on the sites of several vendors, e.g. have a look at the page of Koch Glitsch brocures.

Thanks for your info, Marc.

In particular, the information I was trying to find was related to
mechanical design aspects of column internals to withstand :

1. Flow Induced Vibration
2. Stability under different turndown ratios.

in conventional Sieve trays and Bubble cap trays.

Have there been any recent references on this topic?

The book Marc mention "Distillation Design" by Henry Kister may to soem extent answer your question.

Its has exhaustive section on design of trays.
