hello,
I am working on a chemical process which hopefully results in SiCl4 as a byproduct. I have been unable to find a way to convert SiCl4 to SiO2 (silica) and Cl2 or HCl for recycle back into the reaction process. The only think I have found is SiCl4 + H2O = H2SiO4 + 4HCl. Is there a way to convert H2SiO4 to SiO2 and H2O? Any suggestions or leads would be helpful.

The only method that I know and is done in a laboratory is:
SiCl4 (gas) + O2 -> SiO2 (solid) + 2Cl2 (in the presence of heat)
