I'm currently working my final project as chemical enginering student. My topic is about pre-designing an amino acid (i.e. lysine) plant which would be able to produce 50,000 tonnes per annum. I experience some difficulties in the downstream process. The biggest problem i'm facing is about crystallizing the lysine. I wonder if there are better ways to obtain lysine from the broth, with low energy consumption, no usage of chemical solvent.

my email address is : dodo_che130@yahoo.com

you can reply directly to my email address.

all help, advise and assistance are welcome.

thank you so much !

Hi

Yes there is a way. extraxt the lysine by ion exchange and evaporate then send to a granulator. A spray granulator will work well as long as you control your airflow to dry the granules.
