Hello there,

I would like to know which is the best property package to use in HYSIS to simulate acetic acid, ethylene glycol and acetone in HYSYS. Besodes that, is it possible to simulate a solid component in HYSYS such as calcium oxide? Thank you so much in advance for your advice.

hello,

cetic acid, ethylene glycol etc......... according to their properties, equation of state model cant be used , so i would suggest go for activity models any of them either NRTL or some thing like that.............

yes u can define solid components in hysys as hypotheticals, when u add hypo their is option as add solid where u can define it......... give any 2 details whether NBP, MW or density hysys will calculate all other properties..........

hope upto some extend ur problem is solved

attached file is detailed description for which property packages 2 be selected for diff services

Dear,
While selecting the fluid package for any set of the component list make sure that all the components are compitable with the Fluid package and the pressure and the temperature range.

The solid phase is treated as liquid in Hysys. But instead to make your component i.e. Calcium Oxide as an hypothetical as suggested by Mr. Mmulla make sure that it doesn't exist in the component library of the Hysys. You can use filter to find this component as its solid check the solids radio button and check for the component Calcium Oxide.
