Just wondering if some one can assisst on putting a active fire protection devices on an LNG plant lay out, need to know what would be a general size of a Deluge Skid, since if placed in the area take needs to be considered, which is a very sensitive issue on my current project, further is it likely to have deluge skid with in the LNG trains, where I guess it might be used because of the vessels associated with liquifaction, fractionation etc. for cooling in case of an event?
Thanks,
Umar

Umar,
Be specific in your query. Under no circumstances Deluge skid may provided for entire LNG Train Plant layout. Just forget and impossible.
Please find below the stepwise analysis how to provide deluge system.
1. Identify the hazards potential equipments
2. Do surface ares calculations of such equipments and add 20 % more on conservative side.
3. Depending on the equipment pressurised or atmospher pressure conditions - Refer NFPA 15 for water density flow rates.
4. For the Pressure vessels deluge spray nozzles arrangements - refer NFPA and some times Frangible plugs or Fusible plug or Fire Detectors canbe orovided on the piping - in case any fire arises these F' plugs met and give a signal to DEluge valve skid ( Kneumatic or Electronic) to trigger the Selenoid volve to open Deluge Valve open. Please note the deluge system is only cool to protect the equipment from vaporisation nearby the equipment on fire .
5. Foam system other applicable Fire Extinguishers need to be provided.
6. Please remember water requirement is required only when the Heat radiation from adjacent fire exceeds 8 Kw/m2.
You may contact or express other queries , I try to answer to the best of my knowlegde.
Cheers and good Luck

Umar,
I agree with venkatnag, I think you have only fire water spray system. A value of 4.1 lpm/m2 for metal structure exposed to heat and tank protection 2lpm/m2 for big LNG storage tanks is normal
Please elaborate your requirements
