Pumps are used to motivate liquids and overcome resistances so as to result in the liquid's movement to the desired location. Valves permit selections of alternate pathways for fluids during transfer operations and may also be used to adjust the flowrate. You cannot pose an incredible vague and general question and expect a more detailed answer, so if this response is not what you seek, then

which pump do we use in petrol pumps.
whr do u find valves in an industry.. what is their significance. domestic applications of valves..

Your question is very broad. What you need is for people in the pump and valve industries to respond. I have no general industry "demographic-like" data of the sort you apparently seek. Hopefully some of the forum members will fill the void; if not, go to more industry-specific websites. Good luck.

Pump applications...
i) Water transfer from Water treatment unit to plant wide
ii) Chemical injection for pH adjusting in Wastewater plant
iii) Slurry transfer from reactor (i.e PVC slurry) to blowdown drum
iv) Produced water injection into well for disposal and well maintenance
v) Solid-liquid waste transfer to cake pressing

Infact, all fluid transfer...


Valve applications...
i) Isolation e.g. Block valve
ii) Throttling / control e.g. CV
iii) Overpressure / Vacuum protection e.g. PSV, PVSV
iv) Avoid back flow e.g. Check valve
v) Pump minimum flow protection e.g. ARC valve
