Toor,

I don't know what exactly you are looking for, but here is something I picked from the internet and it's a very nice lecture on distillation columns from a university professor with the lecture in the form of a presentation. Certain further references are also provided which you might refer to gain further insight.

Regards,
Ankur.

PS: By the way, are you a student? If yes, then as Art would have said, you should be posting in the students forum.

Toor,

The most detailed information related to design of tower internals you can find in Ludwig's and Kister's books. Tray manufacturers, Sulzer and Koch-Glitsh are also offering their proprietary software for design/rating of distillation columns.

Hello Toor,

KG-Tower and Sulcol are software applications for design of distillation columns. Koch-Glitsch software is available for direct download (after you provide required data from your side) while Sulcol download has to be approved by Sulzer company. When this step is accomplished you'll be given a link for file download. I have used both programs for rating/preliminary design of fractionation systems, and compared their outputs with manual calculations and Hysys outputs.

Textbooks can be ordered via internet, just Google "Applied process design", "Distillation design", and "Distillation operation".

Best regards,
