Dear All,
I am in a big dilemma whether it is possible to use Nitrogen for actuation of Deluge Valve system for fire protection of LPG Horton Sphere,
My vendor has given me a system in which he is pressurizing the actuation line by Air going to Quartzoid bulbs, now as the continuous availability of air at our project terminal is a major concern but Nitrogen is continuously available from outside supplier so I thought of using nitrogen instead of air for pressurization purpose.
I am having a concern of normal leakage of nitrogen through due course of time which can produce a cooling effect in pipeline material.
Also does fire protection code permits the use of Nitrogen for such kind of service ?
Please put your valuable comments on this asap.
Regards
RN
