I am designing a sulphuric acid plant. Currently, I'm in the preliminary design phase. All temperature into and out of the equipments are based on assumption and from literature. From the heat and material balance, every equipment for eg. absorption tower, catalytic converter is releasing heat.

Can anybody tell me, in the industrial process, how they handle this heat? My lecturer suggested an interstage cooler. What other possible methods that I could handle this heat? Is it possible for me to make the whole process into adiabatic? Insulating the whole tower?

I would like to know the what are the implication in the actual industry of sulphuric acid plant. Hope someone could help me. THanks ya.

Cheers, Cherlyn rolleyes.gif
