Dear All,
I am evaluating a test separator(3 phase) calculation from the vendor. This separator is a submerged weir type design. In order to verify the volumes occupied between any two levels i,e say between NLL and LLL, I require a volume calculation method. The real problem would arise when I would like to know the volume below the Oil HLL (main section)when one needs to evaluate volume upto weir height from HLL and then evaluate volumes between weir and interface level on leftside of weir and volumes on right side of weir.
I would assume these calculations for a submerged weir design require a unique method. Will appreciate if a spreadsheet for these calculations can be shared.
Regards,
Jawa

If you want to calculate the volumes you cite, then the resource has already been developed and is waiting for your download in our Forums. I developed a workbook titled "Vessel Volumes" which you can find in our Forums by simply using our SEARCH feature.
In the workbook is everything you need to calculate the partial volumes inside horizontal cylindrical vessels with a variety of heads.
I hope it helps you out as it has others.

Jawa,
I am not able to find Volume Calculator as Art mentioned. Can you attach this calculator using different post?

Go to:
http://www.cheresour...x...=1557&st=25
And read Post #50 - that's where you will find the .zip file for Vessel Volumes that you can download.
Happy Strapping.

Art,
I downloaded excel workbook of Crane Fluid Flow Problems. This is only Read only, what is the password to unprotect it.
You are doing excellent job for younger engineers.
thanks

The reason I protect my workbooks is because I put so many man-hours into them that I can't risk a file corruption due to a clumsy move of the mouse. I have, on different occasions, made some clumsy errors myself and changed some equations (& macros) by mistake. You can imagine the confusion this causes - instead of being a useful tool, the workbook becomes a destructive one.
I can't give you my password - especially over these Forums. But I can furnish you with an unprotected version of the same workbook. Needless to say, I can't vouch for the results of the workbook after some persons have had access to the algorithms used. But I have no problems with others getting into the equations or algorithms. Heck, these workbooks were put together to help young engineers, and if taking stuff apart and putting it together is a good, quick way of learning -- then go at it! That's the learning method employed by my 6-year old grandson: he's got the disassemble part down pat - it's the re-assembly portion that's giving him problems.
Let me know what file you want un-protected and I'll send you a copy.

No problem. Just tell me what part of Muskogee to send it to.
Just kiddin'. I need a place to send it to. Write me a short note on the personal Forum mail with your email address and I'll send the file to that email address. That way I can ensure that no one else will see your email address.
