Dear all,

I'm working on a small research involving C4 plant which has PIB as a product.
I've searched around but it seems there's not many technology licensors for this product (I found only BASF and Exxon). I also need to find some more other information. If any one know about the followings, pls share with me:
- Technology licensors with brief process flow diagram,
- PIB producers (that's great if you have the list of Asian PIB producers and their capacity),
- Market demand/ supply for PIB (in Asia is the best).

Thank you very much smile.gif

Dear,

Check Out "Fina Technologies" based in United States, at one point in time they used license PIB technology. I think, now they are called Atofina.

Check Out Herdillia Polymers Limited based in New Mumbai, India who are still in the business of manufacturing PIB.

Process flow diagram from a licencer is always proprietary and is seldom disclosed to anyone without signing a NDA. But I think, most of these patents on these technologies had expired and you might get one by searching thru' the polymer textbooks.

hai Vne

What u r doing?? do u hv ministry of small scale enterprise or ministry of chemicals something like that in ur country?? Can u contact them?? Hw u will inroduce urself to them?? Researcher or prospective enterpreuner??? Can u get details of industry & trade association who provides market information from that ministry??

When u get details of said industry & trade association from that ministry, will u post that here?? May be somebody else like u come here in search of these kind of information will not hv to be returned empty handed.

It hurts to see somebody return empty handed.

If there is gap between demand & supply, the activity is considered ideal for selection.

Good Luck.

@ ARAZA: Thx for your information. I visited the web site of Herdillia Polymers Limited (now called Maharashtra Polybutenes Ltd) at http://www.maharashtrapolybutenes.com. It's said that this company is using Fina technology, but it seems the company that provides this technology is out of business now, I cannot find the way how to contact them to get this information.

@ mishra.anand: There hasn't any PIB plant in my country yet. Forum is the place for sharing, so if I have any information that is legal to share, I'll share.

@ All: I've read that BASF bought Exxon PIB business (http://www.azom.com/News.asp?NewsID=621). Does it mean that BASF also buy technology from Exxon and Exxon now have no right to sell the technology on PIB?

I still need more information listed in the first post. If possible, pls help me to find out.

Thank you.
