In mixed refrigerant LNG processes, the key concept is to "adjust" natural gas condensation (liquefaction) curve with refrigerant evaporation curve. This is obtained by:
- Adjusting the composition of refrigerant
- Designing heat transfer systems for maximum thermal efficiency (minimum temperature approach)
The purpose of such design approach is to minimize compressor power while maintaining maximum production rates. I'd suggest you to explore Conoco-Phillips and Shell websites and look for more information:
