Hi,

I'm new to hysys. I'm using hysys 3.4 and i had completed a simulation of a chemical process but when I try and open my file I get this error.

"(filename).hsc is not internally marked as the type of file you are looking for. Try a file with a different extention.

I'm stumped and cannot figure out how to open my file.

I was recently using HYSYS 3.2 but HYSYS 3.4 was then installed and this appeared. I have tried uninstalling 3.4 but it wont open in 3.2 either. The file was originally created using 3.2.

Looks like something went wrong when you saved the file for the last time. Can you recover an older one, or a backup copy? Hysys may be set up to make backups automatically, these have extension .bk0 or .bk1, etcetera.
You may try to open the file in a hex editor and compare to a "fresh" Hysys file, but that would be a long shot.

IMO it's odd though, Coz you're going to be fine if you open older version hysys made file in the newer hysys version.

I hope it
Whenever i save a case, theres also .bk0 file together with .hsc file with same name.
Are you sure you have them ? may be it causes that problem if you miss .bk0 CMIIW

or Just re-install hysys 3.2. i thought 3.1 is more stable.. a senio engineer said that to me once.

I hope youll solve the problem soon

Hi Nick,

I'm using hysys 3.2 and I'm looking for hysys 3.4.
Please, you send it to me or give me link to download it.

Thank you very much!
