Hi Al's,

I like to get expert opinon on dry seal gas vent flow and your views are highly appericated on this topic.
We have Ebraw company Recycle gas compressor, Vendor information sheet telling your normal flow is 0.3m^3/hr and hi limit is given 1.5m^3/hr.
Indeed, our meter read only 0 but NDE side primary seal vent pressure increased to 0.1barg, one month back this pressure was only 0.02barg.
DE side pressure is 0barg, primary seal is H2 (85%H2).
Can any one explain about how much normal seal vent should be and upto what maximum limit we can go with your experience.
Thanks

The compressor may be Ebara, but who is the seal manufacturer? John Crane, Flow Serve ???
Leak rates depend on system pressure, shaft size, speed...
First, refer to the dry gas seal specification sheet & test report, which will have answers to all your questions.
