Im doing a project distillation project using ChemCad and I need to know if ChemCad starts counting the distillation stages from the top or from the bottom. Also does ChemCad factor in the reboiler as a stage or should I add it to the number of trays I'm using. By the way I am using a SCDS distillation column.

In Chemcad, the version I am using is version 6 (I dont think it will be of any consequence), the counting of trays starts from the top. Am not too sure about the 2nd question, though I think that it is factored.

Chemcad counts from top to bottom, when you say 20 stages it inculed condensor and reboiler
