Hi

Could anyone can explain me the hysys error "FATAL ERROR -ZERO DIAGONAL IN COLUMN MATRIX".

I have also attached hysys error file.

Dear Lokesh ,

To converge a distillation column we have to solve many equations ,one by one all tray equations ,Just think in terms of Mathematics , for your inputs there is no solution with hysys distillation equations , you might be giving some invalid inputs check them , till you get a solution

Dear,
Try converging column with different specification. As with the current active specs are overriding each other or you cann't achieve the desired spec values change their values i.e. loosen the active spec values.

In this case: hysys takes all the equations and form an equation system which solved matrixed with a try and error methodology or any other convergence algorithm (like Jacobi or Gauss-Seidel algorithms). Sometimes, for some specifications that you give to hysys to solve the problem and when hysys need to determine the inverse matrix, it find that the determinant is zero, so it gives you the message: "FATAL ERROR -ZERO DIAGONAL IN COLUMN MATRIX"
