Hi,
we have one flow control valve ( 8 inch) that designed for liquid flow of 286 ton/hr hydrocarbone ( most component are paraxylene, MX, OX,Ethylbenzene ) and now we want to use it for steam line ( 8 inch.) with flow of 0~30 ton/hr .
i know design of liquid and steam valve is difference , but i want to know if we can use this valve or not
thanks .

The fact that the valve was previously used for a liquid hydrocarbon is irrelevant. In order to know whether you can use the valve for your steam application you need to know the pressure and temperature rating of the valve, its material of construction and Cv.

And about the delta P across the valve?
