Although there are several posts regarding this topic, none are comprehensive for students to understand and employ as instructions on detailed calculations.
Is there anybody here who can explain in detail how to calculate the hydrate formation temperature of a hydrocarbon stream using the GPSA method and data?
And then, move on to explaining how to calculate the amount of Hydrate Inhibitor (methanol, for example) required to prevent hydrate formation, step by step?
With, e.g.,subsequent explanations regarding the use of Hysys to compare with the GPSA results?

The GPSA Engineering databook provides Hydrate inhibitor injection calculations based on the Hammerschmidt and Nielsen-Bucklin method. These calculations are easy to program on an excel sheet. GPSA Databook even provides a solved example for the same.
HYSYS employs more rigorous techniques specifically for methanol (inhibitor) losses in the vapor phase which is dealt in an empirical manner in GPSA databook. Also HYSYS provides you option of hydrate type such as Type I and II as well as evaluating the hydrate formation temperature if there is no free water in the natural gas.
However some people believe that HYSYS at very high gas pressures overpredicts the hydrate formation temperature. There are some other commercial software also available for prediction of hydrate forming conditions (pressure and temperature) as well as hydrate inhibition injection calculations using standard inhibitors such as methanol and ethylene glycol.

Hysys and I want to check my hand calculations against it. I know I can use the envelope utility to find the
Hydrate curve but how should I check it against the methanol injection by using adjust or set options? or is there
anyother simple way

HYSYS has its own inbuilt "Help" and tutorial section for how to develop a model. Use the same to understand how to model the Hydrate formation utility in the utility main menu of HYSYS. The following link could also help:
