Hi I am Saurabh a student of Petrochemical & Petroleum Refining Engg And I have been assigned to design a desalter vessel. My quetion is how to calculate the residence time of the crude for a particular feed rate, further to know how to calculate the electrodes of the desalter and any other nessesary material regarding desalter, any possible website links from where I could get data regarding design of a desalter. Thanks.........

Read Fogler. It will give you most details abt residence time etc etc...
