Can anyone tell me how to calculate Cv for valve? I have a control valve that is 100% open and I am trying to figure out whether or not this valve is undersized by comparing design value. This valve controls the flow rate of IP steam.

Hi!

I think this is related to your query on the heat exchangers in your SRU.

To answer your question, refer to this link for Cv calculation although I have to admit I haven't calculated Cv's manually for a long time since this is easily done with software nowadays.

The Cv for control valve should be recorded in the documentation for the valve. A lot of times the Cv for a control valve is listed on a metal tag that is attached to the valve.
