Hi,

I would like to know what is the difference between foaming factor and derating factor for column packing, also would like to know what is derating factor considered for amine absorption service for structured packing. Additionaly, how these derating factors decided or any suitable reference available for these values.

Refer Perry's Handbook, 8th Edition, Section 14, Page 14-40 & 14-41 for derating factors. Also refer Table 14-14 (Page 14-61) for packing factors of structured packings of various types.
