HI FRiends :)

 

I SIMULATE A HEAT EXCHANGER on hysys

when I go to the overall performance tab , I remark that the ft factor is empty ? ,as I know this facor is usually 1 or less

Hello N.BH,

Assuming you are using the heat exchanger module that has a fluid on each side, then there are a few ways that this module can be run. You will find a tab where at the top you can decide simple or rigorous etc methods.   The tab that shows the Ft factor may been to be activated so that a Ft factor is calculated and used, otherwise it is likely to be using the default value of 1.  

 

With your Aspen Hysys installation or otherwise from the Aspentech support website you should be able to find the "Operations Guide" pfd file which is like a manual for the user.  That will guide you more specifically.
