Hello,

Can any one tell me what is the different between, isentropic, polytropic and isothermal compressor and why  polytropic compressor mostly used in industrial.?

Also, regarding design of multi stage air compressor, to what temperature we cool the flowrate after each stage?

thanks a lot

The air temperature after cooler is based on the maximum available temperature of the cooling media available (air or cooling media), assuming a approach of 5-10°C in the heat exchanger.
