Hello, I've not yet posted anything to this forum so please let me know if this is not the best place to post. I have been tasked with designing a methanol synthesis reactor as part of my final degree project but have been having difficulty in finding in depth sources. I have taken courses on reactor design but my textbooks don't really go into more detail than basic (volumetric) sizing. My searches online have so far yielded results more related to the optimization of reactors rather than their initial design.
If someone could please point me in the direction of some sources that go into further detail, that would be very much appreciated. If more information would be helpful in determining what would be most useful, let me know and I will provide the details of my process. So far, my group has needed to design our process and then model it using software (unisim). All that remains now is the detailed design of units and controls, and pricing.
I have to go in to class now, so I won't be able to respond until later this evening (currently ~11:30 a.m. where I am). Please do post while I am away and I will reply as soon as I am able. Thank you.
