I am planning to implement Turbine air inlet cooling system for our plant gas turbines as we are in India and most of the time it is very hot ambient temp outside (close to 40-45 deg c).which is responsible for Turbine combustion chamber average temp is on higher side and performance is on lower side.
Gas turbine details -
Solar Taurus 60-each of 5.5 MW (6 Set)
Solar Centaur 40-each of 3.5 MW (2 Set)
Air inlet =
1) 77800 kg/hr for Solar Taurus60
2) 66800 kg/hr for Solar Centaur 40.
As per my calculation 2 set of solar Taurus60 and one centaur 40 turbine will not take more than 500 tonn of refrigeration per hour in total if cooled up to 15 deg c which is ideal temp for drawing optimum power.
I want to know which type of turbine air inlet cooling system will be best for these?
Also what will be the lumsump modification cost associated with them?
Is there any plant which hav solar turbines with turbine air inlet cooling system incorporated?
I will be happy to provide any further data if required.
Thanks
Aditya
