i want to know what is the basic difference when we say 20% moisture on dry and wet basis.?

 it would b nice if any one can explain it in the context of  the two questions attached. actually i want to know why can't i  solvethe second question  in similar way as of 1st

Dear Rishabh96:

 

Water on dry basis mean this:

 % = 100 * m(Water)/m(Dry product)

Water of wet basis mean this:

% = 100*m(Water)/(m(Water)+m(Dry product))

 

Simply using these definitions you can solve both questions. The second definition has the property that the percentage value is bounded by 0 and 100, whereas the dry basis percent can be greater than 100%.
