Hi all,

Please share your ideas about how to introduce Relief devices for interconnected vessel. Is it required to install separate PSV for each vessel? Any supporting standards(code) for this case?

Please refer the process given below

Service-Natural gas,4-6 barg, 15-55 deg C

Vessel package description-Filter coalescer Separator ( contain two separate vessels, one is filter and other is drain collector)

Vessel size- Filter- 2X6 m, drain- 0.5X6 m

Interconnecting line size - 2" pipe, 0.5m long (3 no.s)

Vessel orientation- Horizontal(both,filter on top)

What you describe is a single piece of equipment.

your question and sketch are not very clear.

However if there is no positive isolation between your two interconnecting vessels ESD valve etc, then you can have one PSV for both.

Blesson,

If there is no isolation valve between two equipment or if the isolation valve(s) is LO/CSO, considering design pressures of each equipment and hydraulic characteristics of the whole system in relieving conditions, you can use a set of PSV's for protection of whole system against overpressure per ASME Sec. VIII...

Thanks Mr. Fallah and Zubair,

There is no isolation valves between vessels.Process parameters same for both.

From your reply, i understood that, separate PSVs required for each vessel. Can you provide the supporting code/clause?
