Hi,

Is there a way to quickly estimate the radiation exchange factor when calculating the radiative heat exchange area in a boiler ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mag,

The radiation exchange factor is a measure of the amount of Radiation that is transferred between two surfaces based on their areal fractions relative to each other.

In your case, there is only a single boiler.

So what exchange factor do you wish to find out ?

Is it with respect to any surface you have considered, or just the amount of radiation it emits to the surroundings etc ?

Regards,

Shantanu

Hi,

I am looking at the radiation from the flame to the walltubes of the boiler.

Thanks for the reply.
