Hello Every one We have storage tank at sea port terminal and we want to utilize it for lube base oil export stock. For this we need to install a heating system to maintain its storage temperature between 45 to 60'C. Lube base oil has viscosity of 411 cst at 50'C. As the tank is in sea port terminal so we do not have source of steam for heating. What are the other heating mechanism for storage tank other than electric heating and solar heating? What is the most feasible, safe and favorable for storage tank heating between electric and solar heating. Tank data Working capacity 15458 Bbls Capacity factor 1145 Bbl/m Ambient temperature 15-25'C Is there any reference calculation for heat load requirement for heating of storage tank.

Syeddanishrasool,

Using an electrical coil may be a good choice in this case.

syeddanishrasool,

Solar heating cannot continuously maintain the temperature, then using the electrical heater(s) might be the only option...

The 2 links should support your work . Electricity should be the heating source unless you find geothermal energy !

Good luck
