Compressor Suction Temperature

I have a question please. I deal with a gas its dew point -25 c and hydrate formation at suction pressure is -18 c.
The question is it possible to enter the gas at -10 c to the compressor, because there is no possibiliy to form hydrate or condensate at this temperature and pressure.
Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Hi,
The rule of thumb is to operate natural gas systems at least 10 deg C above the hydrate formation temperature. If that is not possible, you can inject a hydrate inhibitor such as methanol or MEG upstream of the compressor suction scrubber . Hydrate inhibitors act to depress the hydrate formation temperature thus allowing operation at low temperatures.

Hi
Make sure, after compression the gas doesn't get cooled off much.It must remain atleast 10 Deg C above the hydrate formation temperature.
Because after compression, hydrate formation temp will also increase with the increase in discharge pressure.
