Dear,
First of all let me understand you that the question you asked could not have any answer because expet the Indian chemical engineers nobody knows the GATE so don't expect that you could get any specific answer to your question. But being an Indian Chemical Engineers I suggest you to consult to your seniors, take their opinions as well your college proffessors as after qualifying the GATE you multiple options and only your proffessors will guide you on this.
Apart from M.Tech. courses in IITs and NITs, you can opt for the JRF (Junior research Fellships) as well in so many Indian Govt orgnizations consider GATE score as a valued document.

I agree with Padmaker but i think there are Indian Chemies in the forum ...well you must be enjoying at algeria tongue.gif ...often i look for your company at office wink.gif

hehe no personals ...straight to business !

1-40 ranks can get a call from IISC Bangalore ....Up to rank 100 -110 you can get IIT bombay...100-200 try for IIT Kgp and kanpur ....hmm with this Gate Score the best you can get is IIT Delhi.you have to submit your application and sit for an interview.

this is just an indication how da trend moves each year ....No precise data or predictions ...

I think thats Hopefully resolves your querry...My advise is apply for IIT kgp ..kanpur ...delhi and nearest NITs !
