Hay all,

Am in the process of designing a distillation column as part of my course and have been instructed to product a full P&ID with control scheme.

The column itself is fitted with a partial reboiler and partial condenser, with the three products being off-gas, 'wild' naphtha, and the desired diesel product. The column is designed to produce USL spec Diesel following a hydrodesulphurisation process.

Can anyone suggest sources of information on both
- Designing a control scheme
- Putting together a full P&ID with full details of startup, shutdown and control
With advice please!

Thanks

Henry

Henry:

The best source for learning how to control a distillation column is one of Greg Shinskey's books. I think one of them is "Distillation Controls". You cannot go wrong with spending some effort on Greg Shinskey's description of how the controls work and why. He supplies detailed P&ID sketches as well as a narrative on each of his control circuits.

Look Greg up on the Web and buy his book or rent it from your technical library. You can't go wrong.

Is there any one can share this "Distillation Controls" of Greg Shinskey ebook?
Thanks,

Nam4631:

For a copy, go to:
http://www.amazon.co... Controls&ajr=0

A used copy sells for under $20.00. That's cheap and legal.
You will never obtain a pirated copy of any book through our Forums.
