I am designing a purification unit of wet ethanol (85 -95 wt %) for my design project in school. I've decided not to pursue extractive distillation because it is energy intensive. Pevaporation seemed a good choice; the energy savings is quite attractive. The problem is, I can't find enough relevant data regarding this separation process.

Can anyone suggest a good material, which has an extensive discussion on the topic? I would really appreciate any comments or suggestions you will make.

Please go through following article

B.K. Dutta and S.K Sridhar, separation of azeotropic organic liquid mixtures by Pervaporation, AIChE journal, vol.37, No.4, 581 – 588, 1991.

additionally you can refer to following article on this website
