Hi there, I'm working on a very large simulation with multiple design specs and recycles. Normally the entire simulation converges, but when I add a (no pressure change, default specs) mixer to combine two streams that were already being previously combined in a unit operation block I get a loss of convergence in one of the design specs.

The outlet of the mixer being added is connected to the unit operation block that the two inlet streams were previously connected to, so there shouldn't being any change in configuration. Normally the design spec that stops converging has to be related to one of the combined streams, but not always(?)

I have seen the addition of mixers in this manner cause a failure to converge in other simulations too, what could be the possible reasons for this?

This question is nearly impossible to answer without seeing the simulation, so if you could share that, that would be very helpful. If you can't, try to reproduce the problem in a simple example simulation, and post that. You may even find your answer while you do that, how cool would that be?
