I am involved in specifying a low pressure steam boiler(s) for a conceptual study for steam generation configurations. The steam requirement in the plant is for heating purpose and the pressure required is 3.5 barg (saturated steam) at the consumer end. Total steam flowrate will be 100t/h (catered by 3 x 50 t.h). I wish to undertsand what type of boiler will be most suitable for this requirement (i.e. Water Tube or FireTube)?. Also would there be any practical limitation on the boiler design for such a high flowrate and low pressure boiler availability?
