We are trying to model a cylindrical fired heater in HTRI5.0. The heater is used for heating of Dowtherm. The dowtherm enters convection bank and from there flows to the radiant section of the furnace. There is an addition of hot flue gases from other heater mixing with the flue gases coming from radiant section of this heater. Hence the convection section gets duty from two sources.

One possible way out is to model convection and radiant separately. However, the intent of the model is to evaluate the impact of fuel switch from Oil fired to gas fired. Hence evaluation of both the sections together is must to see the impact of duty switch from radiant to convection while switching from oil to gas firing.

Is there a better way to do this in HTRI-5.

Thanking you in anticipation please.

Best Regards
