hello;

i have a question that i am slightly confused. This regarding first start and swithching over of lean solution pumps.

1)Since these pumps are big in nature they have to be warmed up before swithching on (at first startup). they have to be warmed with lean solution at suction passing through the casing into the drain. Question is, how to get the hot lean at suction? the reboiler should be running without running the lean solution pumps? would this not have any localised heating?

2)Also when first start, the discharge line has to be opened or closed? i have vendor manual guiding vaguely saying if downstream pressure is low than the discharge has to be open. and if the downstream pressure is high than the manual discharge block valve shud be closed until the pump buildsup pressure in 20 seconds...and then it shud be opened. whereas there is an additional protection the Lean solution valve will open only after 5 seconds of pumps start

3) when switching over the dischrage line of stopped pump is to be open or close?
