Hello everyone,

I am currently in my 4th year of Chemical Engineering and I'm thinking of applying for Masters. As you might know, to apply for Masters several references are needed as well as a professor who is willing to financially support and supervise you. I am wondering what kind of content should I include in the following:

Email requesting for a reference
- I know I need to include my name, who I am, what course did I take that the professor taught but anything else?

Letter of Intent
- This is the letter where the professor will look at when they "shop" for their graduate students

Email proposing to a professor
- I know I should include background of myself, why they should pick me (though I haven't thought of that yet), but anything else?

The type of research that seems to interest me are: wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, sustainable energy, and a bit of environment. I am currently completing my sustainable energy minor.

I will really appreciate answers from professors or other people who have applied or thinking of applying. If you want to know anything else, just ask.

Thank you.
